6.1.07 It's the first day of June! Well anyways, welcome newcomers! This site is fairly new, so it doesn't have much activity at the moment. Anyways, the site will have some changes here and there as you view the site, so don't be surprised.
Oh, and for now, everyone, please don't constantly go to the Temple of Trial board to roleplay for powers for every fox you create. Pretty please? It's supposed to be a place in a very very dark, deadly forest where the temple is difficult to locate and creatures are easily lost. And even inside the temple, the trial is supposed to be a life or death kind of thing, ya know? If every fox had powers, then it wouldn't be quite special.
The Story
Luirai: Fox RP site
Luirai, a gargantuan land where the main creatures-- foxes-- inhabit within tribes or seclusion. Chaos Bane, an ancient war so long ago in this land, now erodes from history. The war was fought by the first three fox tribes-- the Ancient Tribes: Takesi the elemental tribe, Xanadu the Sky Tribe, and the secluded Baine Tribe, which many thought were simply death bringers, searching for blood and destruction to wherever they may wander. No ending has been reminisced, and no single creature seems to hold the knowledge on the end of Chaos Bane.
Now in what is the present, Takesi has taken to the many elemental tribes dotting Luirai. Xanadu is now referred to as the Lost Tribe, for it is thought to have been wiped from being in the bloodshed of Chaos Bane. The purpose of Chaos Bane has long escaped memory, and thus has been looked upon as a shrouded enigma. Even so, the question still overhangs. What was the purpose of Chaos Bane? Why did it start? What had happened?
After many centuries Luirai has fallen into a tranquility, the Ancient Tribes have divided into six fox tribes: Jaslym, Undani, Kanatari, Faize, Syphiria, and Arcda. They live in a compromise, bearing no grudge from that shrouded war, remaining in their territories in Luirai unless willing to upset this pact. Which tribe shall you pledge loyalty to? Or perhaps you will wander the Outlands, belonging only to solitude– or rise to a power which many fear, use it to set another war upon these lands...

.::Luirai Tribe Territories::.
Jaslym Territory On the far southern side of Luirai, a tall barren mountain protrudes through a thick fog, located near a rocky ocean. Small shrubs peak out from the otherwise dead looking landscape, and a long, trailing path leads up a harsh way up the mountain to what appears to be a small boulder. Frigid weather falls upon Jaslym's territory, and light is barricaded through heavy, dark clouds to leave a mysterious and cold atmosphere...
Undani Territory On the west side of Luirai, a large lake reaches across a vast forest to a wide line of mountains. The mountain range appear to tear at the very skies, protruding far above the clouds that it seems impossible to ascend, although deep ridge allows a thundering waterfall to drop hundreds of feet below into the lake. The frigid, clean water runs through two openings, each splitting on either side of the lake to form a circular river. This river, called Gorging River will head far to the east ocean.

Kanatari Territory There seems to be nothing in the see of long horizon of slender grass sloped with delicate hills passing across the plain of green. Except of course the few behemoth oaks that overshadow everything for miles, extraordinary landmarks reaching for the skies in an endless expanse. Anything could be spotted in Kanatari's territory as they wade through the tall grass.
Faize Territory The Faize territory is a harsh place. Stranded in the heart of the desert lies an abandoned castle, eroding with age. Long ago a drought fell upon the lands of what now is the desert, transforming it into a wasteland, and causing the castle’s forsaken corridors. So barren is this area that it had been given the name, the Strewn Wastelands. The mountains in Jaslym’s Territory stops any oncoming rain that might give a reprieve to the desert’s dry, hot lands. Despite the fact that during the day there is a dangerous heat, at night it becomes a frozen cold. It takes skill and knowledge to be able to survive in the drastic changing environment, and only the strong will live...
Syphiria Territory In the central area of Luirai, there is what can only barely be considered a mountain, able to be skimmed up in less than an hour. There are plenty of trees scattered all over the mountain, and at the top there are several huge rocks. The sun seems to constantly shine, though there are some mornings--normally around June--where there is thin layer of fog. However, the rest of the time the sun shines brightly over it, heating the rocks and providing a perfect relaxing spot. There are also several good training areas, where the area is flat.
Arcda Territory Up on the north edge of Luirai, there is a long, foreboding island located over a deep length of ocean, while jagged rocks protrude alongside as if claws were reaching violently at the skies. The Arcda Territory resides on this dark land. Although the island may have an ominous atmosphere, the territory is actually quite peaceful. The dense forests of green pines reach to the heavens, blocking out almost all light to leave the forest floor cramped. Many creatures live here in a comfortable tranquility, and there are many sources of food and water to survive, including a small waterfall along the west coast. The only way out from this island to the mainland would be a path that only shows itself at midnight. It only is visible for ten minutes--you have to cross as soon as the water's thin enough to run across, otherwise you'll find yourself swimming the last stretch.
Namless Forest: Temple of Trial A large forest shrouded in a foreboding darkness lies on the edge of the Outlands. No one dares to enter in fear of death, unless they desperately wish for a greater strength. Everything becomes a test in this great labyrinth, one that could lead to death, or a rare ability. In the heart of this massive forest with no light, a gargantuan tree leads to a hidden structure carved straight out of the trunk. Named the Temple of Trial, this ethereal structure contains a test, one endowing a gift of power to all those whom may pass all its dangers. These powers are a terror to obtain, those who dare to attempt the mysterious tests have a mere two options. Live or die.
Sacred Forest The Gathering is at the center of the Sacred Forest under the largest, oldest tree oak tree, where the war between the three Ancient Tribes first began and ended. There is a cover of gargantuan evergreens, some as ancient as the land itself. All Tribes agreed that fighting and even gathering food is forbidden here. All Tribes will meet here at times to discuss matters, and only important ranking members of Tribes shall go. The skies are always fair, and the forest is a tranquil place...
Fera Bestia Along a valley is a steep dip in the ground, thought to be created by a meteorite or something along lines, though there is no solid proof of it. It would be normal... if it weren't for the fact that every natural disaster has a chance of taking place here, and 65-70% of the time there is a natural disaster of some sort taking place. Which is why the area looks so distorted, with some trees wind-blown on their sides, others charred to a crisp. There are some large cracks in the earth's crust from earthquakes, and because this crater lies only a couple of miles from the beach, there is also chances of hurricanes. Overall, the only reason a fox would even dare enter such dangerous terrain would be if he or she wanted death, or if he or she wanted some serious challenges thrown their way. Occasionally an adolescent fox will be dared to travel into the dangerous terrain, only to lose their life in the process.

The Outlands Located on the outskirt of Luirai. The Outlands is not a territory, as no creature possesses it as their own. An even worse sort of wasteland than the Faize Tribe's territory, the Outlands have no frequent source of food nor water. This is because of the abnormal weather patterns. Rain or drought could sweep through the Outlands in less than a day, leaving a trail of hard, crumbling stone and earth. The grounds are usually uneven, from flat plateaus to large highlands filled with steep bluffs and prominent chasms. It is barren, with little to no plants, and even the skies are an eerie, cloudless red.
